It is already September. I am sad it's over. I had loads of fun at camp. I don't think I have ever had such a great experience. Everything was so amazing! And I actually swam in the ocean! YAY me.
So besides the fact that I am a nerd. I spend my other time at Dave and Anna's. And what can I say- never a dull moment. I appreciate what they have done for me. Makes me not want to move into the college. But I can be excited for organizing my new room!!!! yay....
Plus it would be nice to see everyone again!!

-Sam

"Save me from my Sweats!"

So sure it has been a long time since I have blogged. I am finally back on the island. Man it's good to see everyone again. I am staying at Dave and Anna's gorgeous new house. Also I find myself working up at Canoe Cove Christian Camp. Been there for about 2 weeks so far, and have 4 more to go. This camp is so awesome! I love the area, and the food. The councellors are cool too. The actual first week of camp ended yesterday and I was alsmot dead- I was so hot and tired! It was for grades 4 and 5. The camp had about 48 kids there- which is more then I am used to for any camp. The kids were both frusterating and hilarious. They were a great group and even though some things were stressful to deal with I will most definatley miss them.
Also I spend time on the beach. I have touched my first jellyfish, and starfish. actually held a hermit crab and a sunfish, and I walk along dry pointy seaweed without complaining out loud. Being a lifeguard for out in the far water was a little out of my comfort zone - but i still got through it. I love the beach and swimming I just hate what is in the water. But I'm just not fully used to it.
I did go canoeing with Charlene and Shannon. Man that was a disaster! we tried to take the canoe down to teh waters by carrying it over our heads. But realized once it was up that it was too heavy so we ended up walking the wrong way and not being able to see where we were going. Then about 10 minutes of struggling we toppled over and realized that a family was sitting there laughing and watching us. It was then that we realized that we should just lift it and carry it down. Soon after we were in the water. We took in the silence asnd sat in the canoe for a while, then canoed more and more. oddly we ended back up to the shore. I got out pushed the canoe back into the water then quickly tried to jump in, but i fell out the other side and into the water. Soon we had to get out because our break was almost over and the kids were doing rec. Let me tell you that it is easier to carry the canoe down then it is to carry it up! we could only pick it up and drag it about a foot before we got tired- or fell- or tripped- or just dropped it.
Sure people laughed. But I do love canoeing!
My team won the whole week challenges (Well me tyler and Nick's team) in the end the prize was a 6 foot sundae. The kids loved it and ate all of it then after ran around on a sugar high until their parents came to get them. It was great! go team!
The next camp starts Sunday for the grades 2/3 and I an't wait to do it all over again. I'm tired but my excitment keeps me going. I sure am glad to be here and taking on this great opportunity.

Gage Park

I have a love for taking pictures. No really being in them, I never know where to put my hands, or how to pose or whatever it is. But I like to take pictures of all sorts of things. Elise and I were bored so we decided to go to Gage Park and relax, talk, and take pictures. I don't remember the last time I have actually hung aroung Gage, but it was fun. I used to go swimming in the fountain and so on when I was younger (eww- gross) and I love trees,a nd flowers and all sorts of other greenery! It makes me happy. And there is a tree there (A BIG WILLOW) that I have liked ever since the first day I saw it long ago. It's just big and droopy.

Here is me and the fountain. Work is little, and I am leaving in 21 day and counting. I did go to IKEA and purchase a nice new set of forks and knives for my college days, a hangy thingy for in my tiny box of a closet, and fun napkins! Oh my life doesn't get more exciting then this! Let me tell you that for sure. Also at IKEA I got 50 cent hotdogs and a pop.

So really I haven't done anything exciting yet to blog about it.
BUT I have been enjoying my time with my church here...I missed everyone so much, we are all so silly. Plus there are the Bible studies and the VBS of avalanche Ranch coming up (YAY) we are doing with the daycare/ kids from the community. So I guess it was already most convienent for doing the March Break Out witht he preschoolers. So I just have really no life at the moment- just waiting for something extraordinary to happen I guess.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kinklesam.blogspot.com/2007/06/hey-sam-nice-drivers.html' title='Hey Sam! I find myself, however, living in a box and a garbage bag. But that is okay because I only have a month left here. I got my plane ticket already and will be heading back to PEI July 11th! I am excited.. too excited! I also took my first aid/ CPR course, and if I have learned nothing else in my life is was the joys of trying to save a dummy. I also liked how I could help someone with a broken collarbone but found it quite difficult to put a simple sling on someone. I also am certified to work an AED machine (those machines that put jolts of electricity through someone's body). tee hee. I found that marvy. So after that course I now can work at the camp. Speaking of camp- soon! Even though I am really really patiently waiting for it to come, I must say that I am quite nervous. I have minor worries, none that are a problem, I can be known to let my imagination get the best of me. I am excited to see my school friends, and those whom I didn't go to school with.
I find life boring now that I don't have to study something... even though when school comes I will probably wish I never said that. But now I have nothing to do. Well...at least when I am done work. Which in fact I just started at Noah's Ark Children's Center! It's a daycare, and I love it. I do a little bit of eveything. Clean, prepare foods, rub backs during nap time while not falling asleep myself (tricky it is), then when the wee ones wake up making sure that they play safe and stay out of trouble. Always entertaining. Today I taught the schoolagers a camp song and as they did enjoy it, they also remembered it!
I am liking the visiting my church friends... I forgot how much I missed them. I missed singing toltally off-key, and dancing horribly, and wrestling with each other... And the of course lovely IKEA visits after church. 50 cent hotdogs WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE.

Anyways- random note here to anyone who reads this...if people still do this whole blogging thing: A prayer for my dad. He isn't doing so hot. Has A LOT of seizures and is slowly killing himself- which sucks. At moment this is a big issue in my life because if he doesn't get better I may not go to PEI (just in case anything happens) for I know that if something happens and I can't comfort or help I will.. not die but feel...awful. So a prayer for a loved one!

Ti'll we write again..or at least me, I guess...
-Samara!

A dent+ A bump= my head

School is done. Wait let me repeat myself...SCHOOL IS DONE! It feels good to be able to say that during this month. That means that I have an extra month and so of summer break. However, this will not be much of a break. I am predicting that I will a) work b) do some sort of work with the church c) Come back to PEI and work!!!! This school year is done (I don't think I can stop saying that) and even though I am relieved I am also sad. I had a lot of fun this year, and I will miss everyone (Even you Fred). I cannot wait to come back here in July and bring a little Ontario to Canoe Cove!
The tour is done. Yes the Maritime Christian College Spring Tour 2007 is over! I have to say that I had SO much fun doing it. Of course it was exhausting and traveling 10 hours on a bus was getting old. But Going from church to church, province to province, I met a lot of people, (some crazy-some not) and had fun up on stage. It was crazy how well we did on stage- when we had such slow and sometimes horrible practices. A part that I will never forget is when we were at Garnett Settlement and a woman was trying to get Tyler to date/marry her daughter and of course I will never forget my night at her house! It's our billeting memories that do it for me during the tour. But even though it was so fun. I am kind of glad it is over. For no other reason than the fact that I can sleep in my own bed.
Also us students went paintballing! It was so fun! I got to "dive" into a muddy puddle, shoot people, hide from coming paintballs, and of course what is paintballing without crawling and rolling around to get from wall to wall. There were two different areas we went to, a big field that was in the woods where we could hide in bushes, bunkers, behind walls, trees, and under sticks. Then the other one was out in the open and the only thing we had was barrells. It wasted a lot more paintballs and it was harder to hide. But I liked it. I also liked when Darrell decided to be sneaky and go around our side and shoot us in the back/ butt/ head from less than 10 feet away. (He doesn't believe in the whole FREEZE thing) I also got shot in the head from about 5 feet away. It stung SO MUCH! and I got paint all in my hair. BUt now I have a battle wound, which is cool...I guess. I also enjoyed when John decided to go crazy and run after Katherine and jump over a barrell to where she was hiding- then while in the air shoot- and hit her hand. It made her bleed and not it is swollen and bruised. But it was cool that someone came out of there bleeding.
Graduation is tomorrow. Also the day when I leave to go home. ugh. I have pretty much packed all of my things and I am ready to go back home. I realized when I packed that I have 26 pairs of footwear here! (this includes slippers, sandals, running, flats, heels and boots) I didn't realize that I had so many! I am crazy- but love shoes.
Went to see Spider Man 3 yesterday. A whole group of us went to the first show. I think I jumped like....8 times, and if you have ever seen a movie with me- know that I had all the facial expressings going, and getting excited/ disappointed. I bet it is a funny thing to watch. I enjoyed the movie. It was good. I will not say what I like or disliked incase anyone hasn't seen it/ wants to see it.
Anyways, I am sure that my laundry should be done now- Later Days
-Samara

If I rub some on my belly I wouldn't look any thinner

I guess it has been awhile since I have written something here. Lots have been going on! I have been getting ready for travelling back to Ontario (May 6th). Choir tour practice...or should I say Maritime Christian College Spring Tour 2007. That starts on the 28th! AHHH! Time is running out, and there is so much to do! ugh, I am excited for it though...never been to NB before. We also have one more week of classes before exams come up. This year went by SO fast, its crazy. I don't want to leave, I have grown to love this little island. I can't wait until I come back next year. Also I have been able to have the opportunity to go to Canoe Cove as a councilor! I am so thankful and excited, and impatient, and ..excited...I really can't think of words at the moment. All I remember when I got the call was me screaming, and running around. This will be such an awesome experience, and I can't wait until I get the chance to meet the campers, hang out, see a jelly fish, teach some things, and of course bring some Ontario to this camp! I love how kids at camp are just on fire for God, the attitude, the atmosphere....it's like my home away from home. So I have just been enjoying the company of the people around me. It is going to be different waking up, and rolling out of bed to class and seeing everyone there. I will miss all my new friends here. We have been through a lot- the hard times, the good times, broken hearts..or at least bent hearts, the joys of wearing clickies, staying up until 3 am talking about things that don't make sense anymore, Exalt, the parade, and I could go on....It will be different to see new people here next year. But that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Cody Banks- Hockey!

"Saddle Up your Horses!"

My week of March Break is over. I actually wouldn't call it a break at all. There was no breaking what-so-ever. There was so much to do, but it all really paid off in the end. I helpped out at the March Break Out. At Immanuel Bible School, or something like thatThe theme was Avalanche Ranch, quite western and I'm sure I enjoyed the music more then the kids did. I did the VBS with the younger kids (along with Elise, Katherine and Rebecca) ages 3-5. That was fun. We sang songs, played with playdo, played some games, ate, made awesome crafts, and sang and danced our hearts out. I really enjoyed all the kids that were there. They were all so happy, it was awesome to see them learn about God, and make new friends. We had from 26-16 kids there. It was always amusing working with everyone, and teaching or just chatting with the wee tots. They always had something funny, or witty to say. After every morning I left the morning VBS, I went over to the other school and helpped out there. It was too much fun there, so busy!

-In the end, I met some great kids, got to play on a big bouncy thing, made snow cones, hands turned blue from snow cone making...Failed at holding a door open, so we got locked out, and was compared to a barrell...yep good times good times.

BUT i can not complain because I did not have to take down the carnival bouncy things...they were like 700 lbs! SUCKERS...

Here is Rebecca, me and Elise with leprosy, horrible thing, but yet makes an awesome game :P

I forget what we were doing, but I bet it was fun

I am the Queen of awesome faces >_<

But now it is back to reality, later dudes!

-Samara

I've never....

If I said that I have never been beat with a magic bag i would be lying. Got Rebecca to go through the hole thing in the kitchen. Our "secret place". Turns out there was a random room (just as random as this post) Then some things fell on her with nails (but it's okay she is perfectly fine) Then she found a bathroom that was locked on the other side, so I guess you can only get into it by that way. HOWEVER, I don't think that anyone would want to go into it. The smell was SO discusting, and rancid that we were all gagging to the point where at least someone should have thrown up. I will quote Rebecca when writing "It smelt like old crap and dead nuns.." yep it was really that bad.
We have also been "busy" at the college with our choir tour, oh wait.. Maritime Christian College Spring Tour 2007. Long name. There will be no choir, but lots of little things going on. It will be interesting, very very interesting plus some spirit fingers ;) ya never know.
Plus we have our first midterm on Thursday. *yay* -_-. The semester is going by so quickly! Midterms already and here I am blogging instead of studying :P
Now for my final Roll call...just because I can

My name is Sam!
I enjoy Bacon!
Mmm food!!
SO CHECK ME OUT!

-Samara

just a little update

This is really just for Dave...Plus I guess I should update my blog. Man it is crazy here, everyone (well at least 4 people) have "the plague" or otherwise known as death on a stick. I haven't go it yet, but i will when I have to do most work, or on chapel, or whatever busyness comes up. We did our acts memorization of acts 2:14-47 this morning...that was joy in a nutshell. Valentines day is coming up too, it is also Katherine's 19th birthday! She bought some cake mix, and lucky me, I get to bake her a cake with my incredible baking skills.
So there is some sweet news. more good news is that my dad finally got out of the hospital. He was in there for a long time, I am glad he is out now, gets rid of some of my stress. Also now with him being home, my brother will have to go to school.-sucker- but what do i know, i live in my school. >.<
Robbie and James are back from going to camp OCA. They even got to go to the Leafs game on Saturday.
Also I am learning how to facebook. I have never done anything like it before, i guess. And, I am hungry. so that is about it in my life at the present moment. there ya go!
-Samwise

Lectures over. . .

It was the first time I have ever been at a lectureship thing. It started on Tuesday and ended on Friday. I enjoyed it a lot! The speaker was Steve McMillan (don't know about the spelling??) and he did an awesome job. He spoke from the book of 1Peter. By being at these lectures we were about to get out of our classes (BONUS!), of course none of us did any work while the week was going by, but that is only natural. On Tuesday we went to Sherwood, sat up on the balcony listened to Steve speak, came back to the college and watched a game of Risk. I didn't understand it at all, so I just took Jim's players and made them into different situations where they would die, or kill others...quite enjoyable. Then we had to go to the night service downtown PEI. There was a band that was made up of people from the churchs around here (well, Cornwall, Central and Sherwood) They did a good job, also a choir was singing too. There was a song, Revival, that the choir and band did together, it was awesome! Then after the lectures we usually went out somewhere, like Tim Hortons or something like that. Taught Tyler how to play Blackjack....no comment :P Then Wednesday it was pretty much the same. I don't really remember what went on at the college...probably something that is too cool for yous to know about...which is the real reason why I can't write it....yes..I CANT FORGET NATHAN! Tyler drove Nathan, Robbie, Elise and moi to Tim Hortons...we were debating wether or not we wanted to go in, out of nowhere Nathan gets our of the car, goes to the window (where people, who we saw at the lectures were sitting) and licks the window! We were all stunned, and just ended up bursting out in laughter when he came back in. The people in Tim Hortons just looked at us in the car, they did have a smile on their face but it slowly turned to a look of discust. We did eventually go into the Tim Hortons, and Nathan found out that he did know the people who saw him. It was too funny. Ask him about it sometime..

Thursday was our pancake breakfast. We got up at 6 something, and was at Sherwood by 7:30 to make Pancakes and sausages. We were all so tired, but no one got food poisioning, or died, or complained, so it was a success. After the lectures we all went to Laura's house got into teams and played Cranium. It was interesting because it took about 20 minutes to put ourselves in teams, and still were confused, and then actually playing the game...but it was fun anyways.
Friday was the last day of the lectures, and it was a good day! The band, Three Season Ant was there. They came at 5:30 pm when they should have been there at 4. So we had like 40 mins to help them get set up and do sound checks and all that jazz, but they made it. There was a great turn out there, even saw some non- young people...which is always nice. Three Season Ant played, and rocked the convention centre! Steve had an awesome message, and Unified did a good job as well. Then we went to Cody Banks, watched some hockey...It was probably the coldest that it has ever been in there! Then of course to Tim Hortons for some good old fasioned arm wrestling (which we established that I am not good at *even when I cheat*) It was a good ending to the busy week. But now it is over, back to work, back to reality, and back to not sleeping. And of course Jamie is getting (or got) married this weekend! YAY!

P.s. a picture of moi! with a book Nathan found and thought fit me quite well.

-Can you figure out why? >.<

and a random picture! Yes I call it home here, because I feel at home when I am here. Friends at the college and at church. great group we got here, yes a great group. Even though the holidays were awesome, I missed it a lot here! It is hard to get back into the swing of things. Memorize Acts, do Romans, figure out what Fred is trying to teach us...man..Bible college is crazy! But never the less I really do enjoy it here. I brought back my bestest friend Elise. I am so happy she is here with me. Now it really is like home, we sing, and dance like none other, oh good times. Nothing really has happened that is interesting, went to Cody Banks on Friday (yay!) gym on saturday, and Central today! I missed that church too, and our youth, oh gosh! So again nothing really, just a little update until something really exciting happens, like I find the curse for cancer, or if I can get through planning this VBS thing...or...should I say VBStress. Gotta love it though.
I at leats hope your past few days have been more interesting than mine. :)
-Samara

Home for the Holidays

So far my holidays here have been so much fun!
I have done many things such as go to the Lirbenson Christmas party, and stuff my face with foods, and sing many songs! We (Lindi, Laura, Elise, Caitlin, Corrie, Cailtin, and I) Sang many christmas/non-Christmas carols throughout the night. We usually just break out into song anywhere we are, and well, since I have been gone I haven't done a lot of it. I was glad to be there and just hang with the crowd. Such great people, I will miss them tons! Also there we had little chocolates that i think were discussing.
Then came the new years HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! Merry 2007!!
Elise and I were told to make a cheeseball and poppers for the party and we did, and it was an awful experience. First we washed and took the seeds out. However, somehow something landed on my bottom lip, and it started to swell, and go red, and BURN, burn so bad. I started frantiking around Elise's kitchen, grabbed some bread, which i couldn't touch because my hands had jalepeno on them. So ran to Elise's mom, and she ripped of a piece of bread (while laughing at me) and i rubbed it on my lip...but that didn't work so I had some water. (with bread in my mouth) but that only made it worse...by like 100%, so I grabbed a big spoon of yogurt and stuck my lip in it. (Very attractive ;) and eventually it stopped. THEN IT CAME BACK BIGGER THAN EVER. So here I was drooling because my lip was on fire, with yogurt, bread, and water on my face...eventually after everyone was done laughing at me it stopped. FOR GOOD...stupid things....they were delicious though. BUT it was just me who got hurt in the process of these scrumptious delights so did Elise, and Caitlin. So it wasn't all at loss. But there is my new year popper story..
Then we went to Lindi's house and hung out, set up the food, greeted some poeple, and hung out. Then I played Euchre. I am too pro at that, my team won the first round (yay matthew!) and then the other team won the second round (only becaus I wasn't really paying attention). Then also the others who weren't playing cards played monopoly! for like 4 HOURS!! Eventually The count down came and we sat, drank some champonade, and sang some crazy new year song. It was great. And what says happy new year than watching Saturday Night Live at 2:00am! Chris Farley! Great, soo funny. Eventually we did go home, and passed out from exhaustion. Good night.
So here I am now. Packing some things to ship to the island, getting my everything organized (hate it!) and trying to fit things and make them work. Flight home, clothes, SHOES! ugh. And where ever you go the government will follow..jerks.. AND I FINALLY GOT MY ROMANS BOOK! ugh i am so impatient that waiting for it just took 10 years off my life. But it is here, so i guess i shall start doing something with it.
So I go back in 5 days...I can't wait to see everyone, it feels like forever. But I also have just no life. So I will exit on that note.
-Happy New Year! >_<
-Sam

A very Merry Christmas

The day that everyone waits for is again another 364 days away. It is crazy to think about how fast it came this year! It is good to be around the family again...I went to my mom's house and had a nice visit with her. And I spent yesterday at my dad's girlfriend's mom's house, then off to Elise's house for the night. I had fun *even though I am sadly sick :( * Got lot of goodies! Listened to some tunes, and then took some drugs and slept the night away. I didn't wake up today until noon! I don't think I have ever done that before.
Also our church had a Candle light service on Christmas eve. We sang some songs, butchered some songs...Of course we had to sing the first noel, or should I say Nowell...That was just as pleasant as it was when us college students went to the nursing home! But still, it was a fun night. I'm just glad I didn't light anything on fire :P.
The holiday has been great so far! Even though I miss everyone at the college, I am glad to be home. So to everyone, hope you had a very merry Christmas, and have a happy new year!
-Sam

Home sweet Home

I am once again back in Hamilton, Ontario. In my HOUSE! I love my HOUSE. I am excited that I am in my HOUSE. For many of you who know, I haven't known where I live for months, but here I am. My flight home was alright, Katherine sang lots, and the guy beside me gave us these cards and told us to go to his studio . . .physco...I can say I do not have that card anymore.
But I did have lots of pepsi and watch TLC on the plane. The ride home with Katherine's parents was cool, hot, and stuffed and my legs were so cramped it was frusterating. I was dropped off at Elise's house, and unpacked as much as I could before I had to tell Scott my few big words that I have learnt over the past few months. Then I showed pictures to Caitlin and Elise, then I was kidnapped by them to go to 7-11 and get a hot chocolate then to a place where lights are all over the place. It was so beautiful, if only I could let yous see it. I have never seen anythng like it in Hamilton. Then we went back and eventually fell asleep.
The next morning I was up and at em at 7:30 to leave the house at 8, to be at the daycare by 8:30. I really missed working and being at the daycare, the kids are awesome! and a lot of them remembered me whch was another plus. I visited with some other friends there and went to Starbucks twice (hot chocolate in the morning, and a peppermint mocha in the afternoon ..delicious)
Before I left the church was going through changes to make it bigger so we can get more people in. (The church is also a daycare) There was stones in the drive way, now it is paved WITH A SPEEDBUMP! I hate speedbumps... THere also has been a new additon to the playground. And the front wall is now windows, and the basement walls have been taken out, and made into one big happy room... It is amazing to see what people have done without me here..no I'm not bitter, I am glad. Excited actually. And I have heard that we have a new couple at the church! YAY US!!! So I really can't wait until Sunday when I can see everyone in the congregation, and even an excuse to wear my clickies!
Today I woke up and just hung around the house with my dad. I was going to go to my highschool to visit my spanish teacher, and I am sure that my math teacher owes me a coffee...or any hot beverage. But I didn't end up going, instead I watched movies and ate steak.
And tomorrow I am going to the school, then to the mall to meet up with my friend Chrystal, and then to a management meeting at church. Haven't been to one of those in a while.
I do miss the island and everyone on it! It's weird not seeing everyone, and running amuk everywhere. I can't wait until next semester comes! New classes, no 8 am or Friday classes! the joy! (even though the 8 am and fridayness was good because I would be up to "do work", but still). Anyhoo I will enjoy my family and friends here, and when I come back I will have Elise with me!!! well two days later, but STILL!!
ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAYS
~Samara

Goodbye Grey Skys Hello Blue

Today is my last day in PEI for the year. It is crazy to think that the semester is done... so much happened, lots of studying, lots of procrastination...my oh my. Exams are finished, meaning no more english for life!! That class was death, death written all over it.
Everyone has left, the only two people here and Katherine and myself. I found it super boring when Katherine left for work at 9am... until 5pm! I was all alone. I packed a little, and cleaned my room, "read" a book, and listened to music while trying to play the bass. I also called my dad, and he is too excited to have me home. <excited> But instead I am going to my best friend's friends house, Elise, for the night and in the morning I am going to work with her at the daycare!
I was also looking on her myspace and realized how much I actually MISS home!!! I was looking at what my church has been doing, and the people (or my "family") of the church have been up to, and I am pretty sure that I almost cried to see how everyone has changed, and how aweosme the church is looking. (It is getting built to be bigger). I now am fully excited to go home now. Away from the cloudy skys, to (at least of what I know) blue skys...and on the plane there is cable, so I can watch TLC. haha.
It is going to be different though, once I am at home because I won't be waking up to having someone in my bed, or seeing everyone at 8am for class...ect. I find that it is already different since when I woke up...
But it is only 20 days, and those will be awesome!
I kinda don't know what to write about at the moment, as you can probably tell...All I really do is just babble on and on. and on and on....and on and on.
-Sam

It's GO TIME!

Well the end of the semester has come. It came quite quick I might add. So many memories, so many stories.
I had an awesome first half here, and I can't wait until second semester!
At Central today the children of the church did some songs and sang and marched in a circle, it was very very cute. But the best part was when Knox did his lines in a mexican accent (it was Feista Navidad) Then Dave came out with a pinata and Knox beat it to a pulp! HILARIOUS! The little kids were so cute too. Max (Katherine Glavin-Large's son) decided not to do anything but make faces and thrown his tambourine. He was a hit. Then there was a child who knew his mom was video taping him, so he was being funny to the camera. It was a fun church service today. And I (plus the sunday school class) got to go to Smitty's this morning for Sunday school. I got these crepe things, they were good, but since I never eat breakfast I got full fast. Then later on today the Central leaders are going to Dale Eynon's house for a Christmas dinner that consists of KFC and pizza. Mmmmm.... Beisdes all the fun today, I also have to do a lot of studying and reading! Little do I know, I won't do it... but still. But it is Go time here, very busy.
On another note, we had our MCC Christmas party. I enjoyed myself, even though my feet were frozen and my black shoes turned white from snow, I loved it. My present I got was a bag od licorice, and a huge chocolate bar . However, I think that my favourite part of that night was when Nathan got his favourite gift-clodhoppers- and at the last person to go , Tyler traded him! IT WAS GREAT. so evil!
Well I really have nothing else interesting going on in my life...well..not yet...SO ENJOY!
-Sam

guess what?

CHICKEN BUTT...but seriously.

Okay, so I have been taking spanish class since grade 10 (I'm obviously not in it now, but you get it) I my past years in this class I have had to fight with the school board not to take the class out of the curiculum every year. In this class all we would do was eat spanish foods, go on picnics..and eat, watch movies (con Antonio Banderas) play games, and finally do a production of any movie we want in spanish (plus english) In my grade 11 year we did Chicago, and I was Roxie Hart! Lead role, tons of lines, and oh the dancing. If you have seen the movie its hard to think that we did each dance according to the movie (cellblock tango was slightly different ;)) Then in my grade 12 year we did Bauty and the Beast! I was BELLE! yay, lead role again. However, the week before I ended up needing to have my appendix out so we had an understudy within 2 days of the play! This tradition of productions have been going on in the school (they have done *my grade 9 year* Charlie's Angels, *grade 10* The grinch, *grade 11* Chicago, and *Grade 12* Beauty and the Beast.) many mucho anos! Like 15 years. But now I figure out the the grade 12's now force the teacher not to do the production! These kids were so annoying last year, ruins everything (it's a split class). I'm so mad now, the teahcer is very very passive, and doesn't even know how to be mean. I'm pretty sure that if I was something would change..jerks.. So she didn't argue. Now I'm mad!

But also, on the way to Mc Donalds, Joel, me, Tyler, and Robbie. It was just at the superstore entrance when this truck cut Joel off, and we were like one foot from hitting him! Joel slammed on the brakes, and swirved! It was so scary. But I guess that is what you get for going to Mc Donalds when there is a Wendy's closer by :P.

Lots to do, Lots to do, I almost finished my resource file within like 3 hours! That is due on Monday. I will just add a few more thingys. Plus I worked on my Lesson for Christian Ed. It's a working progress, yes it is...I am also doing 150 pages of reading...I'm at page 50.. That is due on Tuesday. And I did my O.T study sheet. Today I think I did more work then ever since I have been here... well actually my second big work day. So I live the normal boring life of a student... I look forward to sleep, and of course Resident Evil 4, I like that I am addicted to it! Even though I get scared always! (p.s. never eat dunk-a-roo's when watching).

I leave for home soon, I am pretty excited! I will go to Ikea for hotdogs, and ice cream. Then I will go to New York to visit my grandpa. Go sleep on Elise's floor, and visit my mommy! Yep, oh yeah and do questions for Romans class.blah! It's pretty much what I wanted to do in my spare time!-not.

Anyways Rebecca is rubbing my shoulders... it feels too good to type, peace out A town!

-Sam

Jesus is the reason for the season

The time has come. Where a jolly old man comes, who gives us gifts, eats our cookies, loves the little children and of course takes pictures with them also. No I am not talking about Santa, I am of course talking about that old creepy man who . . . wait, it IS Santa, never mind. But all the same Christmas is here. There is so much going on at the college, the big thing is that we just had our parade yesterday. IT WAS SO AWESOME!
It was thrilling being on the float seeing lots of people from the ages 3-90 dancing and clapping to our music. There was Shannon, Robbie and myself singing, Robbie playing the guitar, James playing the bass, and John drumming. The three songs we sang were: Joyfull Joyfull, Angels we have heard on high, and deck the halls (that song was pure death to us) It was so energizing being up there, we sang and danced like idiots and had a blast. We also had over 5,000 candy canes! (we ran out from the intersection at UPEI going on to University Ave. to where Mc Donalds is.... little distance) But the kids ahead didn't really know the difference anyways. The rest of us students just walked/ ran (depends how far behind you were -haha-) We also just danced, Darrell even got an old woman to dance with him . . .or vise-versa o_O. and you knwo when someone wants to dance with Darrell that it was good *insert evil laugh* By the end of the parade my voice was scratchy (not quite to my prayer time before Exalt) and we all went to Silverstreams for food. I had so much fun doing this, I really don't think I've had so much excitement go through my bones all at once! And I think the greatest thing was that the parade had SO many Jesus based floats! Only like 5 were christmas based, (I'm probably off by a bit) The one big santa float and the rest Jesus ones! AMAZING, They finally realize was this is all about (unless you are in Life Of Christ and Tom ruins everything by telling you that Jesus wasn't even born on Christmas, or around it *bent heart*) But besides that we did a greeat job and I loved it, we should do one next week!
There is also Christmas Chapel coming up, we really have no idea what to do . . . except that the girls-or rebecca and I- will sing teh 12 days AFTER Christmas. Great and catchy tune, plus I'm pretty sure that Darrell is in love with it. Then the banquet thingy, I really don't know what is going on with anything until the last minute, but there is proabaly more . . . I am leaving for home soon, On the 17th actually.. and I will be home on the 7th... both days the college isn't open, so i will do something there. Anyways my punctuation sucks.... and I am sleepy, and cranky, and hungry (what else is new right :P) SO THATS MY STORY!
-Sam

The Great One?

So much is going on here since my last post! We have less then a month of school left so everything is beginning to be stacked and busy. I have been working with some students for the Christmas parade Float. We haven't had a lot of practices yet, but we do sound good, the hard thing is to memorize the songs. James broke the E string of the bass guitar and they are expensive, pathetically expensive! So we have to see what happens with that issue. We have doing chapel by ourselves and we sounds really good together, ever since Exalt we have been in our "band" and we have grown so much musically together, and our talents are growing so much, and the best thing is that we do it all for God. None of us are really, "Hey look at me on stage..." which is great because worship is for God, and we make sure He knows that when we are up there. James birthday just passed, we usually decorate the lounge and have cake so here are pictures of the lounge and the cake.
I have also bought a new/used pair of ice skates. Some of us went skating at UPEI and I was like a pro! I haven't skated since I was 5, and I didn't fall once, and I was racing people on the ice. It was a blast- my next step...hockey! Or not...
The students(11 of us) got together last night and we all went to go bowling. There were two teams, Shannon (or princess), James, Tyler, moi, Joel and Kia (or joelwife) on one team, and on the other was Darrell, Nathan, Katherine, Ryan, Robbie, and Vince. Of course my team won BOTH TIMES! However, I was no help to the team the second time since I sucked. I was about to make a Great comeback by getting a strike, but of course my ball goes between the two pins, not even hitting them... and of course it had to happen to me. blah. Then we all went to Dairy Queen. Since I really like ice cream, I really like dairy queen. All I can say is "Dairy Queen, you make good ice cream." Then once we came back to the college I played guitar and Katherine drummed while we waited for Dave to come pick us up to go to hockey. At hockey I actually went out on the ice in my boots. *I was like wayne gretzky* I almost fell twice, and I had no gear or anything, but I was holding a stick, and that is the closest I have got to hockey-ing on ice. It was great, I enjoyed myself, but I did have to get off the ice because I had no helmet..pfft...there was hardly anyone there, Ben and Jamie were away, but still the ice seemed more bare last night.
Today Katherine and I just went shopping, we were girls and bought girls things, and we hung out and talked, which is something we haven't done in a long while. But is it nice to go and shop, especially shoppong. I bought a new pair of shoes for the gym/ gym time since my other ones hurt me. :(
I have been living here in PEI for like.. awhile and I love here so much! I really don't want to leave, I am also so used of seeing people here everyday that the christmas break is going to kill me. Once we all left for thanksgiving and came back it was like we haven't seen each other for months and it was only for a weekend, so this break will be interesting. It because of how much we have grown together so much, it's amazing how God is working in our lives. We have also been growning amazingly in Christ. I love it so much! I am planning to stay here over the summer, maybe go home for like May or both June and May. Maybe work at camp here, or some VBS thing, But I really don't know what is going to happen, I do nothing but pray about it, and if it is what God wants then I shall go for it. Anyways lots to do, always a pleasure!
-Samara

Our great lack-of-Charity Night

Halloween came and went so quickly this year. We didn't have youth group on the 31st, nope, we had ours on...THE FIRST! There was around like 40 youth, and they all dressed up. It was a blast everyone had fun. Susan ran the games, and it was a fear factor/survior/amazing race kinda thing. They were put into four groups of kids, and the pretty much competed with each other in different activities throughout the night. Of course there was the contests of "Best Costume" for both the Leader and youth. The leader was Ian, he was Wolverine, and the youth was Justine, she went as a girl in a bubble bath- very creative! I had a blast. It was such a great night, we were all dressed up to the point of . .dressy-upness! It's times like these where you can look back and say "I was there." (Unless you're Charity) But that is a different story, of course.

\There is a picture of all the wonderful leaders who dressed up for the occasion/

I'll fly away

The past ever I have been looking for plane tickets to go home for the holidays. I have no idea what is a good price and what isn't. I know that prices have gotten lower though, since in September is was around $650, and now a month later it is $458. So my plan is to wait about two more weeks and see where I'll go from there. I am so excited to go home, I miss my dad, and my friend(s) and my church, and my friend's family, and yea, my brother. I did some Chirstmas shopping already so I can just go there (earlier then they think) and surprise them with goodies! YAY GOODIES!!!
But besides me looking for a plane ticket nothing else has really gone on. The usual memorization of Matthew 6 and our two midterms on Monday (English and Christian Education). Some of us went to Smitty's and hung out today for supper, I felt like I had to buy a new sword for Robbie since I tackled him and broke his. I also found out that my dad, during his EMG, or EVC (I don't do medical terms, but its when doctor's check your eyes and so on by flashing a lot of lights and you have to keep your sight on a black dot, I really don't know what it is called) But last time he did it he almost passed out, and he had to be escorted from the hospital, but THIS time he could do it with out leaving, it made him dizzy but he "passed" it. Next he has a Catscan thing to check his head and his brain. So I REALLY hope he does okay, It would kill me if something isn't what we think it is. I'm not into surprises from doctor's-Nope, not at all.
We (and by we, I mean the college) are having a Nacho Libre night where we eat nachos and watch Nacho Libre (who would have thought). Tomorrow is church-yessss- gotta love church--
So that is about it really, nothing else going on with me, the usual boringness of my life.
-Samara

eXalt

The youth rally was great! Exhausting beyond all reasonable doubt, but fun. It was Roaring Lambs 2006 .Being on the worship team was hard too. It was like hillsongs united up on the stage! Yes we had a lot of issues to deal with, but by the end we did do a great job. I got so see some friends whom I haven't seen for a long time! I really enjoyed that. Brenton Dickieson was the speaker, he led some really powerful messages.
Three Season Ant was there to do a concert. They are awesome! Such a great job with the worship. I was so stressed and frusterated with random things, and when worship time came, it was just the thing I needed to get relaxed, and in the mood to go on in the weekend. The band was very friendly, they talked to us, and let some kid play with instruments. SO they are not jerks (a plus). I did get to help carry some of their thingys. Not a lot might I add, but help is help. There is a picture of us and the band Three Season Ant.

Over all it was a great time, I can't wait for next year!

-Samara

patiently waiting

As many people know, Exalt is coming up soon! And by soon I mean on Friday. I am actually ready for it to be over. There is so much to do for it. The worship band has practiced like minimum 20 hours alone, IN THE PAST WEKK AND A HALF! It's crazy, and we have to put off our work to get the worship all ready and set up. We have progressed SO much though, It's awesome! We also have some what of decorations prepared. Somewhat as in, two big posters. But it's a start. but the greatest news of all, is that my best friend is coming down tomorrow! I miss her so much! Elise and I have spend pretty much the whole summer (i think I was at home for about a week) together. It's weird not sleeping on her floor... but now...she is sleeping on mine (yessssssssssssssssss)
Us in 2003. The only holiday I know that wether I like it or not I sleep after eatting. I usually dine out at home, then at the Jacobsens on this fine holiday, but this year I was in Halifax, Nova Scotia with some friends. It is such a beautiful province. TREES FOR DAYS! I got to see a friend who I haven't seen since I left from home. And I even got to spend it with a new family.
I stayed at Matthew Morris, and Jim Midget's household. That was a blast, all we did was really play nintendo, and watch movies. So we really just hung out. But when we weren't at their house we were at Halifax Christian Church. The church was full of awesome people who were on fire of God. Amazing bunch of people. They had their 25th church anniversary this weekend so there was like 4 services, and a carnival, and a giant, delicious turket dinner that Shannon's mom, pat, Nicholson prepaired for 18 people! AND THERE WAS STILL LEFTOVERS! The food was amazing! Turkey= splendidness, and apple pie= pie in my tummy. I really enjoyed the weekend and spending time in the new area, and with my fellow collegees (Robbie, Katherine, John, James, Shannon, and a little bit of Nathan) Of course to every fun thing there always (or at least something) that gets you down. Of course that person would have to be me. Something always goes wrong to ruin/ upset me. But there is no way to change the past, you just have to move on towards the future, and (as my dad and I say) "Walk it off, or go rub dirt on it" So... when life gives you lemons . . .make delicious lemonade. . .yeah . . anyways, happy thanksgiving!
THANKS JIM AND MATTHEW! You guys rock!
-GO ROCKETSHIPS.

Sweet 19!

Happy Birthday to me,
I live in the college.
I'm bad at making new songs . . .
So I think That I'll stop!

I realized that I could never be a song writer. Also the first birthday I haven't spent with my parents...This would be a little difficult since I am in another timezone than them. Also at this time, I would be telling Elise's mom, Shari, that I would like a cheeseball, and the coolest cake ever- a GIANT cookie, with ice cream, then ANOTHER COOKIES ON TOP! And let me tell you. . .I am so glad that I come here. We first just mingle around and talk, visit whatever you want to call it. Then we would play games. Darrell and Ryan played Mafia, the youth enjoyed it. Then during Dave thought it would be smart to get this pole thing, and stick it up his nose, then "up" Ian's butt. Then he tried to touch me with it. gross. But after we do small groups. And it is my favourite time during the night. We go by a book with different questions that may or may not challenge us. And then after we discuss them. I like sitting and just listening to the group, I don't really know them that well, so I really enjoy what they have to say. Plus we got really into it, and some youth really hit the spot with some of their replies. After we do worship, We sang a song that I forget the name to, but we sang it at the college, thenConsuming Fire . . and let me tell you, I love how it is sung! My favourite part is at the solo guitar part it always gets me! One of my favourites of all, then Blessed be Your Name. The youth here are really talented in this area! Blows me away, nothing else to do but listen and praise God! I am glad that God has sent me here to do my Christian Service Program. I can do lots here, and the youth, and leaders are awesome. I have made new friends, and I can't wait for what the future.
-Sam

The Sentinel

This movie was cool. . . Robbie, Laura, Valerie, Darrell, Stephannie, and I were watching it. I really enjoy action/adventure movies, I can never sit still, and I end up grabbing whatever is the closet to me and screaming at the actors on T.V. (Just ask Katherine when we were watching Posiedon) Yes this was one of those movies. It about a guy who works for the president, and he gets framed for conspiracy to kill the president. So Yeah, by the end of the movie, our eyes were glued to the T.V. I was screaming at it, Robbie, and Valerie were laughing at me. So when the movie ended Darrell was so upset because the main guy didn't get the girl! He ended up with nothing. . . But . . .. none of us really expected him to get the girl anyways, just so happens that Darrell did. Darrell wanted to call it "The man who got shot three times, lost his job and didn't get the girl" But really, how catchy is that. . .
So that was my night. I'm enjoying my days, however I do find myself home sick (noticing this after Darrell's devo.) but yeah, I do miss my family, but Christmas is coming up and I will see them soon! YAY!!!
So.................... I must fall asleep now, Tired am I!
-Samara

So ..

So far my time in P.E.I. has been awesome. On Friday we went to Canoe Cove Christian Camp. I learnt how to play 9 square, I didn't do very well, but I did hit it out of my square a few times (as in like 3). Then we all played skunk (YAY FRISBEE!) I was doing awesome only because no one passed it to me, but that was okay since people were whipping the frisbee at each other. Then we had supper, Kevin did some hamburgers on the BBQ. Then came chapel, sang somes like All the earth will sing your praises, Psalm 9/ I will Praise, and we wanna see Jesus lifted high. If we sang any other song I didn't write it because I forgot. Finally after there was campfire. I enjoyed it because we were all incharge, just sang random songs, then Ben played his guitar and we sang more worship-py songs. I liked having the campfire by the beach, the waves are quite soothing. Then we all went to Ben's house and had chips, drink and chit-chatted. It was a fun day, full of adventure.
Then on Saturday the college went on the Harbour Hippo. It's a big car/ boat that took us on a tour of downtown Charlottetown, and told us funny interesting facts. Then in 30 mins we went into the water with the music of "Jaws". The hippo went around the harbour for 30 mins, and then we went back up on land, and had lunch at Peake's Quay (pronounced as Key). Then we just hung out around the college..
On Sunday I went to Central Church of Christ. I met Dave, his wife Anna, and many others. I also got volunteered to work there for my Christian Service Program. CENTRAL HERE I COME! I like the church, and the people are so welcoming!
After church a few of us gathered at the Marshall's house to go over what things we will be doing with youth and so on. WE EVEN GET OUR OWN BINDERS WITH THINGS IN THEM! That is neat! Well for only knowing that I was going to help there for about 2 hours, I was excited. I love working with kids, and youth, and others, so I hope that I can do well for the church here! Then there was the conovation service at chapel, it was like a welcome thing. Jim Midget spoke on "The Cost of Being A Disciple" Very neat, I've never heard him speak before so I enjoyed it. Then there was food, I mingled around. Then when we should have studied, we went to Dairy Queen. Then I memorized Matthew 5: 1-12, and Read 3 books in the O.T.
YEP It's teh college life for me, and I'm lovin' it!
-Samara

MCC

I've finally moved into the island. My time at the Ross's was sweet! I haven't seen them since they moved from Hamilton. But then I moved into the college on the 4th, and Yes, it is different BUT I like it. I've met so many new people, and I did some grocery shopping, and just shopping in general. On the first day here we all sat in the chapel and sis some worship songs with Kevin. Then after Kevin gave us all a bag (an old potato bag) of goodies like: a bag of cookies, and coupons, and a watch that doesn't work for anyone, and lots of other things. Then we had nachos, and visited. In the evening the girls made the guys watch A Cinderella Story. They didn't complain until Ben came in. And I know for a fact that Darrel enjoyed it, just by the way he was sitting and starring at the screen. Well I'm goi g shopping now with Katherine, Robbie, and John (James brother) So I write back later!!!
Ok so It's later now . . . we went around and shopped, I had to get a USB cord for my printer that dosn't even work on my laptop. -_-. Then we went to this chinese buffet, then came home. Today was my first day of the Oral Communication class. Tom made us anwser questions up at the front of the room, and even one that only one person knew about (it was transubstantiation). yeah . . . But it was fun
YESTERDAY WE DID THE APTITUDE TEST. What they say about it is true. I think I got like 15 out of 150. . . It made my brain fall apart.
But I have homework so I should do it. It was well done. Lindi, Elise, Caitlin, Josh and I were decorating the church on Saturday night from like 7 pm to 11pm, and we didn't even finish putting up the fabric, and lights on the ceiling. But after we decided to go to Starbucks to visit Laura instead of finishng. At Starbucks we all ordered something (it was on Josh) I got a strawberry blended lemonade. . .Mmmmm . . we also helped Laura close by bringing in the heavy patio furnature. Atfter we went home to sleep. Today we were all at the church by 11:30 am to finish setting up. We, of course, danced to music while doing this. Around 4 pm we were done, and had to get dressed to go to Pier 4 to decorate it.
The decorations were: light green hawian flowers all over, and we strung some around the ceremony area. There was cheesecloth to cover the graffitti . . . but.... it looked pathetic so we decided to have Matthew Morris be a decoration and stand infront of it. The ceremony was about 15 mins. Then everyone went to the church to mingle, and eat snacks. Elise, Matthew, Josh, and I stayed behind to clean up.
The reception was good. Nice soft dinner music played as we all mingled, and visited with Peter and Kasia. And as an added bonus Peter made a slide show/ movie of him and his new wife (very funny). People left around 9ish, and that is when the after party took place.
Me, Lindi, Elise, Caitlin, Laura, Josh, and Matthew blared music, and danced for a long time. Then we cleaned up a bit, then Josh started to do some kariokee to Bob Dylan, and Bruce Sprinsteen (among others). Then we played starwars. I went up on Josh's shoulders and then he just spun me around, and made it seem like I was going to fall. . .(don't ever play starwars . . I don't get it, but don't play it) So that little thing took 10 years off my life. Then we all just banged into each other while dancing, very messy, but well . . we were so tired, and just didn't care anymore. We danced to My Girl, Thriller, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, and of course Bruce Springsteen. (among others). After Josh started to beat up Caitlin, and beatting her with her own shoe. Then he tried to give me an eario, so he threw me down, and tried to pin me down (but having "Squermy Skills" I got out. UNTIL Lindi, and Laura, and Elise helped him, I was so exhausted and all my muscles hurted, but I ended up winning and I didn't get an eario (yesss . .)
Then we cleaned up the rest, set up for church, and relaxed for about 15 mins while watching U2 on DVD. Then we went home
Matthew and Laura were driving out of the parking lot and me, Lindi, Caitlin, and Elise were standing in a line baricading the driveway. Laura just drover over caitlin's shoe. hhahaha. Then we all chased the car to try to hop on, but Caitlin tripped, lost her balance, and fell FLAT on her face. Too funny to believe, we all laughed until it hurt. Then Josh and Lindi drove us home.
Yes, It's days like theses where I will miss my Hamilton Family. We haven't all just hung out and had fun for a long time where we act like fools. Quite fun. and to think I leave in 4 days!
I will make new memories there, and have a blast so I am excited!
But I've had a LONG day and it is 11:38 pm now, and I am so tired! So GOODNIGHT!
-Samara

The General

The last time I was in the General Hospital I was getting my appendix out. I stayed 3 days and two nights, and for all those days and a night my dad was right there beside me. HOWEVER, today was a different story.
It started when I went out at 7 am with my friends Elise and Caitlin. After Caitlin went home, and Elise and I went to Limeridge mall to hang out/ talk/ and to waste time. Once we walked around, and all that jazz it was time to go home. Then we went to Elise's house. {It was at this time that my dad had a seizure.} I was getting ready to do some painting at the church when my grandma called and said "Your dad had a bad seizure about 15 minutes ago, he is doing awful, the ambulance should be at your house now."- That wasn't my favourite thing to hear from the other end of the phone, but alright. Scott drove me to the bus stop, and I was on my way to the Hospital.
I really didn't want to go because, well . . . I wasn't too fond of my recent trip. But I wanted to see how my dad was doing. When I showed up the nurses wouldn't let me see him because they didn't think I was related. So I had to argue with them to make them understand as I would throw different ID. Yes, still a frusterating place, nothing has changed. Once they let me in, I saw my dad he was hooked up to "the internet" {different Plugs} and had a breathing mask on his face and IV needles. He looked alright though, usually he has tons of bruises, and cuts, or blood everywhere {quite gross} but he did look good. It was so sad to see him like that. The doctors gave him 10 pills to stop him from shaking. They put him right out.
As he was sleeping I thought of when I was in the hospital and when I was "sleeping" he would talk to me saying how proud he was of me, and how I will be alright. Totally monologuing. He used to do it a lot when I was small. But yeah. I caught myself doing it. I cryed a little remembering how much my dad has been there for me in the past, and how much he hasn't. For those reasons I wanted to be there for him.
Once dad woke up I smiled at him. He told me he was scared, and I held his hand. Until the Valum Kicked in and he fell asleep again. I don't know what I am going to do when I leave. I know dad will have more seizures, and everything else that is wrong with him, and I won't be there for him when he needs me. I'm afraid of leaving and something horrible happening to him, or even my brother. But Nick is healthy, but him and dad do not get along so there is a sace there. Dad is FAR from it. I know that he is slowly dying, or slowly killing himself. It's hard to think about. I shouldn't but seeing him like I do, It's hard.
I pray for him a lot. At home, or at church where ever I am. So I ask who reads this to pray. Help me pray.
Until he is better I have to stay by him {except when I have to go home like now} I have to make sure he knows that I am there for him, and he is going to be okay.<br I find that both annoying, and frusterating. This question has come up during many conversations, and it is starting to get on my nerves.
I am going to bible college for the same reason everyone is (Well I hope they think the same way I do). I shouldn't have to explain why I want to go, sorry I shouldn't have to defend myself. I'm not going for Robbie, I am going for me, My own personal growth. And I don't like it when people think that. So whoever reads this, and even starts to think about this situation, or has been. JUST DON'T!!
The one thing that hurt me a lot was when I read that even the thought of me just going for Robbie was infact . . . .. . Robbie. . . . thanks.
-Samara
p.s. On a better note, I got my plane ticket. First I went to my grandma's house in St. Catherines. She made sure I am ready to go to MCC! On Monday we did 4 hours of shopping (very fun). Then Tuesday we did only 2 hours of shopping, and cut and got my hair highlighted (very nice) Once we got home I went on to my OSAP thingy, and printed all my papers. When the time comes to get my money I will be so lost. THIS PROCESS IS SO CONFUSING, I'm going to be a lost puppy. I thought It was going to be easy, but boy was I wrong. Now I am really worried that something will go wrong :(. But on a happier note I am going to P.E.I August 30th. I'd describe how I feel but every emotion is going through me. I am excited to go to college, meet new people, and live kind of on my own. I'm scared to leave home, and have to realize how expensive the world is. I'm nervous . . well just because all the move. And I am over joyed to be living the experience. I am excited to see people that I haven't seen for a while. I'm excited to do new things, and visit new churches. I'm just excited!!!!
I will miss my friends. and family. I will miss my church a lot. yeah . . . There a pretty coll bunch of people.
Saturday/ Sunday/ Monday is when I am buying my plane ticket. I have a ride to pick me up at the airport, so that is swell.
At the moment there is cop cars outsie of the Jacobsen's house. Caitlin, Elise, and I were bored so we decided to sing a little for them. I'm sure they enjoyed it. As always.
-So that's about it, enjoy
-Samara

Vacation bible Stress?

Now after doing a week of vbs it has come to me that working with the youth is crazily fun. The theme is of course underwater thingy. There were 3 age groups: the mighty minows (2.5-3), Super Starfish (3-5), and the Daring Dolphins (6-10). We all had a lot of fun. Monday we all sang some songs, then went outside to play. It was fun because I made all the kids run and jump on Matthew. There were so many of them that he ended up on the ground (dirty stones) with kids piled up on him. Oh it was good to laugh at him. MUAHAHAHA. Then we did a craft, and a puzzling activity. Once that was over we ended with songs. Then came lunch, then we helped to put the kids to sleep. Then on Tuesday we did songs again, and had more fun. Its cool because the kids really trusted us quickly so when it was time to do more games, and activites, and crafts they were all for it (well some of them). It was frusterating when they wouldn't listen and you had to yell loudly or just sit there and watch them. Plus kids were always everywhere, and screaming, and pushing. So the usual for daycare kids. Tuesday night John came.
Wednesday we did the same things at VBS. But after we went out for Jhn's birthday to see Click. It's funny, and about 5 out of 6 of us almost cried lol! By Thursday we were all just so exhausted! and all the kids were always all over us. One kid kept putting my leg on his head to show me how strong he was. And you knwo they never really stopped with Matthew (MUAHAHA). Then after VBS we all went to Lindi's house to have a party, we had pizza, pop, and watched High School Musical. I'll tell ya, Its pretty crazy! Matthew and John were complaining and the rest of us were laughing at how awful the dancing and well . . it was. After we all singed the songs and did gross dancing to it. Then some Game cube for me Elise Mathew and John. After we all watched that 70's show, and we went to bed. On Friday it was funny because Lindi found the VBS cd, it would have been nice if we could have found it on Monday but you know . . . So we danced and sang to the songs, went through the day, usually we ddin't get a lot done because the kids sometimes like to do their own thing, but it was still super fun!
I also enjoyed hanging out with the other volunteers. HAD FUN! SO . . . t'ill then...
-Samara

VBS

Starting on Monday our Mountain View Christian Church, plus volunteers (John. Matthew, Jenna?,Jillian,Daley ect . . ) will be running a VBS for the daycare. It's really fun though, The songs are fun to sing, tiring for the legs but still fun. And the crafts are cool and easy. The theme is under the sea, so Elise, Crystal and I spent yesterday afternoon making props, and scenery for the whole water thing.
Also during the week it's Johnny jo jo's 17th birthday! *Happy Birthday* . So Elise and I decided to take him and Matthew to a movie, and out to have dimsum (Cuz John likes it). So That'll be swell. But the week will be tiring, nothing but singing and dancing like idiots for the 5 days. But then yet as I think about it that's all Elise, and I really do in our spare time. So it's the same old, same old.
-Samara

Hair Dye or Hair Death

Well I am dying my hair, and by I, I mean Elise. We got this new hair dye this morning at Shoppers Drugmart. It is a brownish/Blonde with some "Natural" Highlights in them. (I don't know why they are called natual since they come out of a box). But I need a new change so I decided to dye it. It will look good, since, HEH it's on me. But yeah, at the present moment it is burning a small bit... and then it is itchy. I WANT TO SCRATCH IT, however, I can do no such thing. I take it out at 12:15! I find it exciting. But I am nervous, I hope people and Me (of course) like it. So taa taa 'til then.

-Samara

Jr. High

Being a counceller at Jr. high is probably more exhausting than being a camper at sr. high. But I had SO much fun there it's crazy! It was so much fun to hang out with the ABC team again (you guys rock!) and my other teen councillers were so awesome to be around. The campers were crazy, loud, and cool. There were 9 girls and 5 boys so it was relatively small for a jr. high camp. I made lots of new friends and came closer to God through testemonies, sermons, and through prayer. I wish it wasn't over (even though the sore/tired/grumpy side of me tells me YES SLEEP!) BUT . . even so camp is a life changing experience and I cherish the memories.
Monday we were supposed to go on a hike but it rained so we went to Shelbourne pool. No one really wanted to go swimming, but the campers went and the only councillors were Matthew and I. Then once we all came back to camp we napped, then the worship team had to go practice (me,elise, john, matthew, and becky). That was fun when we could all just go, hang out and play some music together to worship God.
Tuesday we all just played in the water on the tarp i think. Seems so far away. I didn't want to go down, but Matthew stopped my thinking on that. Then we threw Jordan down, and then Elise. So by the end everyone who was outside went down wether they liked it or not.
Wednesday we went back to Shelbourne pool and got into our teams (Go BEAVER!) and played keep away. yes yes I'd say beaver won, but you know how it goes.

Thursday we had a faculty hunt. it was really fun! elise and i weren't the first ones found. Actually no one found us. That night a girl named Melissa had an asthma attack and me being a person who has lots of them helpped her, since no one else knew how to deal with it.
Friday was the amazing race. It was so hot and we made the campers exhausted! However, they did have the water fight to look forward to after. We all got drenched . I tried to throw John down the tarp, but it didn't go well. But the cool part was when Flora Jean went down the tarp. When she did though, she hit her head on the ground (once she did there was silence all throughout the camp) so hard that she forgot a lot fo things as the day went by. Such as that after she went down the first time, she went down a second time (Go Flora!), and why she wanted Matthew and John into the kitchen, and she even forgot that she made cheese cake!! So it was bad. Dave Pickle went down too, that was funny, he did well.

Then came pranks! I knew what the guys were doing since for the whole week I was their "inside girl" So us girls waited for them, so we could do our prank on them. IT WAS SO FUN all it turned out to be was a giant water fight at 1 am. I got drenched, and all the running, and struggling made me sore, but I did get my target like I said so I am satisfied. There was on flaw, right before us girls did your prank the dean and hs wife stopped all of us because we were noisy. so that sucked!- but still fun night-
Oh yes, jr. high was really fun. From scary letters to Naomi, to me ALWAYS dying at mafia (You guys are just jealous) camp was sweet!
-Samara

Camp 06

Another week of camp has passed. It was actually my last year as a camper. It was fun, we had a great group of campers, and the ABC team was quite swell. The fireworks in town were cool.First we just hung out around tHE camp grounds at the BBQ, and talked with some friends that we haven't seen in awhile. It was fun, and it's always good to be at camp.

Next we went to Wasaga Beach. Some of us shopped, some swam, and some of us burried each other in the sand. (David MacDonald burried in the sand) It was really cold though so not a lot of people swam. But I did get a blizzard at Dairy Queen so it's cool. After we had chapel on the beach (in the back area) I think it would be cool to have it right on the beach, but we haven't done that for a while. During the worship some seagulls were eatting our food, so we had to "shoo" them away.

The week was full of fun activities, and campers who were excited to learn more about God. The classes were interesting. We talked about faith, inheritence, and about our future problems about homosexuals, and the muslum religion. I am so tired, and I should be taking a nap . .. . but . . . nah. On Friday afternoon we had a banquet. The messhall was really pretty, and we all dressed up (well, as much as we could for being at camp) and took tons of pictures! Next week I have to go back again to be a counseller for Tom Marshall's week of jr. high. This should be interesting, yet amusing! I leave tomorrow.

-Taa!
-Samara

Little Fuzzies...

Today is the first day that I saw Scrappy (my brother's cat) kittens walk by themselves. They are now about 7 weeks old, or something like that. Maybe 5 . .. It's funny because they stumble everywhere, and roll around and when I walk by them they try to pounce on my feet, but they miss. But they don't stop meowing! They keep me up all night, they are pretty quite in the day, but by night they don't shut up (except for the 30 mins that they sleep for... and thats only about 5 times a night..) so i sleep when they sleep.

I am going to camp today, and while I'm gone I hope that my dad doesn't give them away! Mmmmmmm. First we had Pasta, then out came roast beef sauted in onions, peppers, and mushrooms, with potatoes, and green beans. Our table was so full, then the waitor brought out chicken parmasano of whatever it's called. UGH! so good. Then out came the salad. I didn't have any since I was full, so I decided to wait until dessert. By the time dessert rolled around 9 people already got kicked out for drinking, and 2 were throwing up. Too bad for them because we had black forrest cake! Yes the food was good, however, the dancing was better . .
Elise, Crystal and I danced for 5 hours straight! I love to dance, yes we probably did look liek idiots, but hey you have ot be remembered for something! One of the best songs that the D.J. played was a medley of Grease Songs. It was a mixture of "You're the one that I want". Grease Lightning", and "Summer Nights". The teachers were amazed at the fact that all the students knew every word, and they laughed at us when we danced like they did on the movie, and when we sang the end of Summer Nights . The second song was time warp. All the teachers joined in that one, and there was so much energy going around, well that and sweat. Next song that was fun to dance to was of course FOOTLOOSE! We made the whole two lines then two people whould go down the line and dance. TOO MUCH FUN! Oh I love that song, (I'm actually listening to it now).
The last song was of course "Graduation" by Vitamin C. A few people danced, but the rest just looked at their friends and cryed. It didn't really clue in yet for me until that song, and with the of my fellow grads, same with them. After the song we all gave each other hugs, and took millions of pictures, and talked about our past 4 years. Yes what a fun night! Once Elise and I got home, we got changed, and pasted right out. AH good times . ..
-Samara

Graduation

Well another four years have past and I am FINALLY done. I woke up this morning thinking about my highschool memories, and what I will be missing when I go on to MCC. During the ceremony I felt that I was about to pass out! The heat was pathetic, and I almost had an asthma attack. I had my 4 frineds fanning me with their cards, I had my gown unzipped, and my hat off, and pants rolled up right until my name was called. (It made it worse when I had to put everything back on within 20 seconds) Then I received the "Margrette Snall Award" which is a scholarship for students who have taken university french and english all throughout highschool along with getting 6 A's (That were university or mixed courses) Along with me the rest of the french class got one (there's only 5 of us!) <fsf4u>the scholarship consisted of a letter and a check. It felt good to hold the award because we all worked so hard for it.
Then I had to go to the office where it was air-conditioned. I got some water, and sat down for about 2 minutes until I was off to go stand back in line for my next award. The award was a plaque for the spanish award. Than once I receiced that I had to go stand in line again for my profiency award (over 80% average)it's a lovely medal to wear around my neck whenever I fell like bragging to my friends who decided that highschool was dumb and dropped out. The valedictorian was Kurt Tossetto. His speech was amazingly funny, and the best part was when we threw out hats up! Ah yes good times.
After all this I meet up with Elise and we took some pictures, found my family, took more picures, then went to the cafeteria to meet some friends and take more pictures. Our spanish class gave Senora Almeida a scrapbook for pictures so she will never forget us, and then Crystal, Elise and I went ot get some snacks they were serving.
The past four years have went by so fast, It was like just yesterday of my first day of grade 9, the day when I walked into a tree infront of all the "Cool Kids" Yes I made quite an impression on them. Now I can only look to my new future at MCC. I have so many things that I would like to do there, plus all of the new experiences I will do and people I will meet!!!!! I know that my time there will be just as swell as my time in highschool.
-Samara

THE sam. .welcome

Welcome to Sam's blog, this is actually Elise setting up Sam's blog.
